About Creatisimo, a forum on AI and creative work
Creatisimo is a forum for people who make images and need straight answers about AI. A designer wondering whether a client brief allows generative fill. An illustrator whose hand-drawn piece was flagged as AI on a print site. A photographer who exported a file and found its Content Credentials had vanished. You ask a specific question, and you get an answer that names the tool, the setting or the document it rests on.
The forum is independent. It stands on its own at creatisimo.net, with no parent publication behind it and no tool vendor paying for placement.
A new forum on an old domain
The forum was rebuilt in October 2026 as a new community. An earlier forum once ran on this domain and it has closed. None of its posts, accounts or threads were carried over, and nothing from it was archived or republished here. Everything you read on Creatisimo was written after the rebuild, and the forum has no history before 2026. If you remember the old forum, please treat this as a fresh start.
What we cover
There are five sections. Two are for questions and three are for conversation.
- AI image tools. Midjourney, Firefly, DALL-E, Stable Diffusion and others: licensing terms, settings, output quality, and which tool suits which kind of job. This is a discussion section.
- Is this AI? Telling AI images from photographs and hand-made art. Visual tells, metadata, detectors, and what each check can and cannot prove about a single picture. This is a question and answer section.
- Content credentials. C2PA, Content Credentials, invisible watermarks and EXIF: how provenance is attached to an image, where it gets stripped, and how to read it. This is a question and answer section.
- Design workflows. Where AI fits in real design, illustration and photo work: moodboards, retouching, client disclosure, style ethics and what studios allow. This is a discussion section.
- Showcase. Share a project and the process behind it, whether hand-made, AI-assisted or mixed, with the tools, the steps and what you would change next time. This is a discussion section.
Who edits it
Two editors run the forum and write the early answers.
Mira Talbot is the Editor of Creatisimo. She writes the answers on AI image tools, licensing and design workflows. She tests each tool herself, reads the terms and help pages behind every claim, and notes when an answer depends on a plan or a version.
Oskar Lund is the Provenance and image verification editor. He covers Content Credentials, watermarks and image verification. He works from the C2PA specification, vendor documentation and published research, and he is clear about what a check can show and what it cannot.
Every staff post carries a visible Staff label beside the name, so you can always tell when you are reading an editor and not another member. As members join, their answers appear without the label, and the best answer in a thread is chosen on its merits, not on who wrote it.
How answers are sourced
A claim about a licence, a menu path or a technical standard should come from something you can check. Staff answers name the vendor terms page, help article, specification or published study they rely on, and say so when the source is a vendor's own marketing. Where an answer describes our own testing, it says which tool, plan and version we used.
We are careful about certainty. No single check can prove that one picture is or is not AI generated. A detector score is a signal, metadata can be stripped or missing for innocent reasons, and a visual tell can appear in a photograph. Answers say what a check shows and where it stops, and they avoid declaring a verdict on a stranger's image.
Tools change quickly. A setting that existed last month may have moved, and a licence can change with a plan. Staff answers state the date they were last checked, and they say plainly when something may not apply to your situation. If you are not sure an answer fits, reply with the exact tool, plan and version and ask.
Corrections
If an answer is wrong or out of date, tell us. When we correct a staff answer, we add a dated note in the thread saying what changed and why, so nobody has to guess what was edited. Corrections are welcome from members too, and a good correction with a source is the fastest way to improve a thread. You can reach the editors through the contact page at hello@creatisimo.net.
Ground rules in brief
We ask members to be specific, to credit and respect other people's work, to disclose AI use in showcase posts, and to keep the forum free of spam. The full rules are on the guidelines page. Nothing on this forum is professional or legal advice, and the terms page explains what that means.
