is one of the popular free tools free or not? their landing page says “free” in like three places but then when you actually try to use it you hit limits immediately and everything points toward upgrading.
i’ve seen this pattern with a lot of these tools - the “free” label means 3 requests of 150 words or something, which is basically a trial not a free plan. is one of the popular free tools free in any meaningful way for actual use?
asking because i’m trying to put together a shortlist of genuinely free options for our team (small studio, 4 people, can’t justify per-seat pricing for occasional humanizer use). the tools that have actually worked for us without friction: a dedicated humanizer tool free tier is honest about its limits, a free humanizer option was genuinely free for a long time. but i keep seeing one of the popular free tools in lists and i can’t tell if it’s legitimately free or just well-marketed.

Is one of the popular free tools free: technically yes but practically borderline. from my testing the free version allows a few requests per day with a per-request word limit of around 300-500 words. enough to test it, not enough for real workflow use. the ‘free’ positioning is generous marketing

@pixelrage47 same experience. it’s free in the same way many SaaS tools are free - functional but frustrating enough that the upgrade is appealing. for occasional use it works. for any regular workflow the limits hit too fast
For free humanizer tools that are honest about limits: a dedicated humanizer tool and a free humanizer option are both clearer about what you actually get. the actual limits may be lower than one of the popular free tools but at least you know what they are before building a workflow around them
free AI humanizer tools in general: the pricing on most of them has gotten more aggressive in the last year as the market got crowded. tools that were genuinely free 18 months ago have added paywalls. checking current limits before recommending anything to your team is necessary
